After a long drive to Ferrum and a few detours, the Youth and Adult Staff were able to gather together at last to prepare for the beginning of an unforgettable experience. We soon unpacked and found ourselves at a beautiful college with a spectacular dorm unlike any any of us have seen (Arthur Hall). We found out that we are the first group with youth to be priveleged enough to use this dorm that has a suite design with 4 individual rooms in each section and air conditioning!
Soon it was dinner time and we decided to check out the restaurant nearby called "77." After taking a closer look at the building that turned out not to be in business, we decided to eat at one of the other two open restaurants in town, the local Dairy Queen.
We had a few group building activities and after a few failed attempts, we decided to let the younger people in the group give it a go...and Success! After trying to literally lean on each other, it was time to get down to business. We had our first meetings together and continued with our preparations for tomorrow when all the youth come. You can tell that we're really excited!
